This is me delivering a poem I wrote when I was 11 that was inspired by Mr. Satyarthi (Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2014 for rescuing children from child slavery). In June 2015, I was asked to read my poem “My innocent brothers and sisters” on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with Mr. Kailash Satyarthi. The CNN Freedom project televised the reading and the entire event. It was a very thrilling experience as this was the same venue and format that Martin Luther King delivered his famous “ I have a dream speech.” To know more visit Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation.
